mu.sō espresso bar on wheels // vintage BMW e30 touring serving coffee

some ideas take a while to become real.

for us, one of them was finding a way to bring mu.sō outside the coffee shop.

a few months ago, that idea turned into a vintage bmw e30 touring with a custom espresso setup in the back. not because the world needed another coffee cart, but because we liked the idea of serving coffee and matcha in places where people wouldn't expect to find it.

we recently brought it to a rivian x open air event in los angeles.

instead of our usual backdrop of floor-to-ceiling windows and patio plants, it was parked by rivian’s venice location, among good people, interesting conversations, and a community gathered around a shared experience. throughout the day, we served freshly brewed specialty coffee, ceremonial matcha drinks, and a few signatures while meeting people who had never heard of mu.sō and others who stopped by as soon as they saw the pop up announcement on our instagram stories.

one of our favorite things about coffee is how naturally it creates moments between people. a drink becomes a conversation. a conversation becomes a connection. that doesn't really change whether you're standing inside a coffee shop or next to a thirty-year-old bmw.

the espresso bar on wheels became an organic extension of what we're already doing at mu.sō. same drinks. same attention to quality. same belief that good coffee and good music tend to make everything a little better.
